Propylene Carbonate (C4H6O3cap C sub 4 cap H sub 6 cap O sub 3?4?6?3) is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic, and biodegradable polar aprotic solvent with high dielectric constant and boiling point (240°C240 °C240 °C). It is widely used as a high-performance electrolyte component in lithium-ion batteries, a polar solvent in paints/coatings, and in cosmetics.
